A design-led phone built for ex-smartphone users: premium hardware, curated tools, and an explicit no-feeds philosophy.
A minimalist phone is a newer category of intentional device designed backwards from the question "what does a person actually need?" — rather than stripped-down budget hardware. Examples: the Light Phone III, Punkt MP02, and Mudita Kompakt.
Typical traits: premium build, monochrome or E-ink screens, curated tools (maps, music, notes) chosen by the owner, and a business model that explicitly excludes advertising and data sales. Prices run $300–800 — you are paying for design and restraint, not specs.
