Nomophobia
Anxiety at being separated from your phone — "no-mobile phobia" — one of the clearest signs the relationship needs renegotiating.
Nomophobia ("no-mobile phobia") is the anxiety people feel when separated from their smartphone — battery dying, phone left at home, no signal. Surveys consistently find a majority of smartphone users experience some degree of it.
The unease is real, and it is worth examining what exactly feels threatened: reachability (legitimate — solvable with any phone that makes calls) versus access to the loop of checking (the manufactured part). Dumbphone users routinely report the anxiety inverting within weeks: the phone becomes boring, and boring turns out to feel like freedom.
